Trees for Africa

Image 1

As well as offering consultancy in the UK, David Sanger has been offering assistance in Uganda on a voluntary basis since 1998.

There is a project based in the diocese of Bunyro -Kitara wih an HQ in Hoima, in the north west  of Uganda which aims to plant substantial areas of trees as a cash crop. This is to help the Ugandans  become more self-sufficient, while also providing much needed timber and wood products.

Trees planted are Eucalypts and Caribbean Pine, these species can produce a saleable crop in 15 years. It is proposed that this year more native trees are to be planted  to ensure greater diversity.
