Kapok in Senegal

This huge Kapok tree in Senegal is venerated and held sacred by the locals This tree really is massive as can be seen by my son who is six feet tall.

In East Africa the Baobab becomes the champion tree with giants dominating the African Landscape, these peculiar trees are sometimes known as the upside down tree. It is reputed to have been pulled up and replanted upside down by the Devil.

This one is in the Lower Zambezi , National Park in Zambia.
